In my last mentor meeting, I began discussing microservices and how they are going to play a huge part in the future. Microservices range from Microsoft Azure to Amazon Web Services (AWS). My associate gave a detailed presentation in regards to what Microservices are, advantages and disadvantages, as well as real life implications of the tool. This overview gave me a brief idea as to how they are used and when they can be implemented, however, my work is far from complete. In addition, I am going to go on a call with my associate to further discuss what microservices are and learn more about them so that I can be prepared for my mentor meeting this weekend. During my meeting this weekend, we discussed that my product might have been a bit too ambitious given the time and the team’s current skill sets to work upon something like that. An app is far from the realm as to something we could do. However, my mentor had a brilliant idea as to a product we could work on which is simple yet powerful, an ECG belt that provides the user their live ECG when they put it on. ECG is your heart’s movement (heart spike monitor in hospitals), many times when people want this data, they’ll have to go to a clinic and request this data be taken, they wait for it to be ready for them and then shipped 3 days later. This device removes that buffer time and gives you live ECG when you ask for it.
